Portugal is a wonderful country to visit. Beautiful countryside, interesting cities and great food and wine. Porto is one of the most photogenic cities, especially at night.

The island of Svalbard lies about 500 miles north of the top of Norway and its northern most point is close to the 80th Parallel, about 600 miles from the North Pole. It is a ruggedly beautiful place filled with huge glaciers and impressive fjords. It also contains much wildlife, such as Polar Bears, Walrus, and many species of birds.

The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg may be small, but they are filled with great subjects.

The Germanic countries are rich in history and loaded with impressive castles and churches. It is even more impressive when you consider that much was rebuilt after WWII.

The Ottoman Empire may be gone, but the countries of Eastern Europe have retained much of their classical beauty.

I lived in England for three years and have always felt as if it were home. There is so much history and such a beautiful country that I never tire of it.

France and Spain are great places for excellent food, wine and incredible history. There is an abundance of castles and cathedrals to keep a photographer busy for decades.

For such a small country, Iceland is huge in photographic opportunities. Seeing the northern lights in this rugged and beautiful landscape is beyond description.

Italy is a feast for the eyes and your taste buds. There is so much to see and so much to eat and drink with some very charming people. You will see more ancient history here than almost anywhere else in the world.

I am of Swedish descent and have visited the small towns where my grandparents lived. Sweden, Norway and Denmark are beautiful countries with much to see and photograph.
